Bestselling author Dawn O'Porter sets latest book in Guernsey

Dawn O'Porter is in Guernsey, debuting her new book, which is set in the Bailiwick.

Dawn grew up on the island and has paid tribute to it several times in her books, including in her new novel HONEYBEE.

The coming-of-age story is said to be a love letter to female friendship, starring characters Renée and Flo.

O' Porter, who is a writer, presenter and mum of three, tells us islanders might spot some local favourites that may have got a shout-out in the book:

"In HONEYBEE, set in Guernsey, people are going to recognise the Cobo Chippy. They'll recognise the Havelet wall and they'll recognise Dix Neuf cafe.

"(The characters) really get around in this book, and there are lots of hot island spots that they visit."

Dawn was spotted signing books yesterday. She tells us how her childhood here has influenced her writing process:

"Of all the places to come from for inspiring creativity!

I was just up at Jerbourg Point this morning and I can remember just so vividly sitting down there and just dreaming of being a writer.

As soon as I land, I just feel that all my worries and woes just disappear."
