First Weekender Acts Revealed

Manchester rock band James and Brit Award winner Becky Hill are the first acts on the bill for this year's Weekender Festival.

'The crazy what love can do' singer will take to the main stage at the Royal Jersey Showground in September.

The former 'The Voice' 2012 semi-finalist has gone to have a string of hits over the past decade has won the Brit for Best Dance Art for two years running.

Becky has released a number of hugely successful songs since her 2014 debut single with Oliver Heldens, 'Gecko (Overdrive)'.

She has collaborated with big names including Sigala, MK, Galantis, David Guetta and Ella Henderson  and Joel Corry.

Becky's getting ready for a busy summer of festival peformances:

James - whose hits include 'She's a Star' and 'Sit Down' - return to the island on the Sunday (3 September).

The band has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide since they formed in 1982.  

They're currently marking their 40th anniversary with a UK tour featuring a live orchestra.  Last week they announced the release of their 17th studio album Be Opened by the Wonderful .

The album -  an all acoustic, orchestral re-working of hit singles plus a new track Love Make A Fool - will be out in June.

The popular Hot Dub Rave Machine and Hot Dub Time Machine will do DJ sets both days.
