Guernsey civil servants turn down States 5% pay rise offer

The Guernsey Civil Service union says its members are discontent, as 'The States is asking its workers to do more, with less'.

Members of the Association of Guernsey Civil Servants hope rejecting the below inflation pay offer from the States of Guernsey will demonstrate how 'undervalued and underappreciated' they feel.

Their union says public sector awards have fallen behind inflation for 15 years and fail to keep up with the high price of houses and rents in Guernsey, while its members receive more criticism and increasing workloads of greater complexity.
