Guernsey school children join thousands singing in London's O2 Arena

Year 5 and 6 students from Melrose joined the world's largest children’s choir at the O2 Arena.

The 24 Guernsey pupils joined thousands of children from across the UK singing in the iconic London O2 Arena on 24 January.

This is the second year teacher Tom Lewis has got Melrose students involved in the Young Voices Concerts, which are meant to instil a love for music.

"Seeing our students perform in such a huge venue was an incredible moment.

"It’s not just about the music; it’s about giving them the chance to be part of something much bigger than themselves.

"This was a huge opportunity for them to develop their confidence, teamwork, and love for music.

"I’ve already started looking into returning next year and we’ll definitely be continuing our involvement with Young Voices in future years."

12 songs were performed, including one accompanied by sign language.
