Pembroke Bay, or technically speaking, G-PEMB, is the registration chosen by Aurigny for its new, leased aircraft.

As reported by Island FM, the ATR 72-600 arrived into Guernsey just after 9am on 19 July. It had come from Keflavik Airport in Iceland, completing a journey begun in the United States.

It was delivered delivered by Jetstream, which is a Miami-based aircraft lessor.

Aurigny's CEO, Nico Bezuidenhout, says the aircraft is a welcome addition to the fleet:

“Welcoming the fourth ATR is a positive step toward providing our customers with the most resilient and reliable service possible. The aircraft type is a known quantity to Aurigny and, opting to lease rather than own this aircraft, the airline achieves a better mix between owned and leased assets, as called for by our shareholder-approved strategy. 

We also look forward to fostering a strong relationship with Jetstream, an established lessor with an existing presence within the UK and US regional aviation markets.”

The 10 year old ATR will now need a safety inspection, which is required by the UK Civil Aviation Authority for all new fleet additions.

Aurigny says this will be done this month, and it will then be registered as G-PEMB.

It will initially operate in its current livery until it is repainted in Aurigny's colours.

The airline has a fifth ATR 72-600 on order. That is also a leased aircraft and is due to arrive in September.
