Terrace of old homes to be demolished in Alderney

Properties at Whitegates below Fort Albert are uneconomical to repair.

The terrace of five homes were once social housing but have been derelict for years.

They're right next to the road to the campsite.

A survey shows there are possible subsidence issues alongside structural decay, wood rot and damp.

Alderney's General Services Committee now recommends they're taken down as soon as possible, in the interests of safety.

A previous survey showed repair would be too expensive.
