
Guernsey's Heather Watson's hopes of reaching a first Grand Slam quarter-final at Wimbledon ended in a straight-sets defeat by Jule Niemeier.
But the 30 year old Channel Islander lost in straight sets to German youngster Niemeier to miss out on a place in the quarter finals.

There was plenty of support for the Guernsey player on Centre Court, with the match preceded by a celebration to mark the court's centenary.
British number four Watson was contesting her first major fourth-round match at her 42nd Slam.
But her hopes of progressing were dashed by 22 year old Niemeier, world number 97, who will now face compatriot Tatjana Maria, ranked 103rd, for a semi-final place.
