It will cost you more to park your car at Jersey airport from the spring. Harbour mooring fees are rising too.
The airport's Long Stay car park charge will rise from 80 pence to 90 pence an hour on 1 April.
The Short Stay car park will cost £1 per 30 minutes. It is currently 80 pence.
You will still be able to park for free for up to 30 minutes in the Long Stay car park.
Harbour mooring fees are going up by 10.4% - in line with the September 2022 inflation rate.
That rise won't apply to commercial fishermen.
“We are pleased to be able to support the Island’s fishing industry by exempting commercial fishermen from this year’s increase in mooring fees.” - Ports of Jersey CEO Matt Thomas.
The competition regulator allows for an annual increase of September RPI + 1%, but Ports of Jersey boss Matt Thomas says they have decided not to impose the extra 1% because of the impact on customers.
The increase has also been postponed from 1 January to 1 March.
But he says, like every business, Ports is facing significantly higher operating costs and is still recovering from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on travel.
“The pandemic has had a significant impact on the aviation and maritime sectors, amounting to approximately £55 million in lost revenue for us.
We are planning major capital investment at the airport and harbour, starting this year with improvements in freight and passenger facilities at Elizabeth Harbour.
All of Ports of Jersey’s profits are used to invest in the island’s critical services and infrastructure, and in the next five years we will be investing more than £100 million.
In setting this increase we have kept the future sustainability of the Island’s connectivity, and the resilience of the airport and harbour infrastructure, at the forefront of our thinking."
