Aspiring Politicians Needed For Youth Parliament

Young people are being invited to represent Jersey at this year's Commonwealth Youth Parliament.

It is being held in Delhi in India on 24-28th November.

The States Assembly is looking for two young adults aged 18-29 who are interested in politics and are keen for the opportunity to experience parliamentary procedures, debate controversial issues and face a mock media conference.

"Whether you aspire to become a politician or not, we are looking for two confident and articulate individuals who take pride in their island and want to play an active role in the Youth Parliament while representing Jersey on a global stage."  -Deputy Carolyn Labey, Chair of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association in Jersey

To apply, send your CV and a 500 word cover letter to m.egan@gov.je before 19th September.

Jersey hosted the last Commonwealth Youth Parliament, which attracted global news coverage and saw #CYP9 trend on twitter.
