CCTV images supplied by Jersey Police

Police are asking the public for help to identify a man who attempted to rob the Morrisons Daily store on Queen's Road.

It happened just after 6.40pm on Friday (12 January),

A man entered the shop and tried to steal money by threatening one of the cashiers and a customer who was being served at the time.

Police say that when the alarm was raised the man ran off, pursued by the customer.

He headed up Queen's Road and was last seen at the junction with St John's Road.

He didn't steal anything, and no-one was hurt.

The suspect is described as being between 5’10” and 6’ tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a black balaclava/ski mask, a black long-sleeved top with grey patterned/camouflage arms, grey camouflaged trousers, brown boots and black gloves.

He was also carrying a white plastic bag.

Jersey Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area between 6.30pm and 7pm on Friday and who might have seen this man, or who recognises him from the clothing, description or images that have been issued.

Officers are also appealing for any dashcam footage from people who were driving along Queen's Road of nearby at the time of the attempted robbery.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
