Autism Jersey benefits from JT's Community Giving Scheme

Autism Jersey to expand its Adult and Family Support Services, with help from JT's Community Giving Scheme.

Autism Jersey has been able to continue providing personalised assistance to autistic individuals as well as their families and carers, free of charge, using crucial funding given by JT's Community Giving Scheme.

This partnership allows Autism Jersey to reach its mission of achieving an inclusive community where autistic people can reach their full potential.

Autism Jersey's Adult and Family Support Services provide various family events, such as a sibling support group, mindfulness sessions for carers, and a befriending programme led by trained volunteers.

These events are designed to create bonds and allow people to feel less alone.

In 2024, the charity achieved Advanced Status under the National Autistic Society Accreditation Programme, becoming the only provider in Jersey to reach this.

Pip Carpenter, Head of Consumer Markets and Community Partnerships at JT, adds that the new funding will allow Autism Jersey to keep up with the demand for their quality services.

"This funding will hopefully help Autism Jersey respond to the growing demand for their services and ensure that individuals and families navigating the challenges of autism continue to receive the guidance and support they need.

"At JT, we understand the immense value charities like Autism Jersey bring to our community, and we are proud to support them in delivering these critical services."

The charity supported 280 families by hosting events for 420 children and spreading awareness to 92 adults, from May 2023 to April 2024.
