Lifeboats have been called out off the coast of Jersey after a boat became beached out at the Écréhous.

The small motor cruiser became grounded on the reef at around 11am on Friday, with the people on board rescued by a passing Seafaris RIB.

Both of the RNLI's lifeboat stations were called to action to help, with the St Catherine's crew helping to treat a few minor injuries the boat's occupants had sustained.

They were then transferred back to Jersey by the St Helier all-weather lifeboat.

The St Catherine's crew returned to the Écréhous at high tide to be on standby while the stricken boat was retrieved and brought back to Gorey Harbour, where it was hoisted out of the water and is undergoing a full assessment and repairs.
