Bulls' Summer Cup Competition Postponed

Jersey Bulls is the latest club to have to rearrange its summer plans because of increasing Covid-19 case rates and ongoing restrictions.

The VBET Cup, which was scheduled for the middle of July, will take place next year instead.

Hashtag United, FC United of Manchester, and Cray Wanderers were due to come to Jersey for the competition.

Jersey Bulls says it's 'with regret and significant disappointment' that the clubs involved find themselves in this position, but that all sides understand the need to respect guidance and protect health.

"We are incredibly disappointed that we will not be able to host and compete in this years’ VBET Cup. There is however some positive news in that we have confirmed a date for next year, and we hope that it will be even bigger and better! We thank the clubs for their interest, cooperation and support and look forward to welcoming them as soon as possible". - Ian Horswell, Jersey Bulls CEO.

Tickets already bought can be used to go to next year's tournament.

Several other summer sporting events have had to be cancelled or postponed for similar reasons.

England's netball camp in Jersey has been pushed back until next summer, Tranmere Rovers planned summer training camp in Jersey has been cancelled, and it's understood Hull City have also called off plans to come to the island ahead of their return to the Championship.
