Five Oaks Trade Park Opens

A new trade park has opened at Five Oaks. It includes a Co-op supermarket and a second Le Gallais self-storage facility.

The £12 million redevelopment of the site of the former Jersey Evening Post office is welcoming its first customers.

As well as the food store and storage business, there is a 10,300 sq ft light industrial unit.  30 new jobs have been created.

The site was bought by Le Gallais Real Estates when the JEP moved out in 2019.

The new trade park includes solar power panels and electric vehicle charging points.

A zebra crossing has been created at the entrance.

“We’re delighted to be opening the new Five Oaks site. The facilities will provide a significant boost to the local area as well as expanding the self storage services and retail options for the wider community. We’ve seen a clear increase in storage demand during recent years and are confident that a new out-of-town option will be hugely popular with our customers looking for short or long-term space.

“It’s a testament to our team and our design and construction partners that the site has been completed on time and with paramount consideration for the surrounding area and environment. This approach is at the centre of our real estate business and will continue to be vitally important as we look to the future.”  - Tim Le Gallais, Managing Director of Le Gallais.

The Co-op store is the first to feature the retailer's new branding:

The 4,300 sq ft shop has created up to 19 new jobs.

“We are excited to be opening our new store offering customers an extensive range of Coop items, along with delivering a great shopping experience to help make everyday shopping easier."  - Mark Cox, CEO.
