Former JSPCA Boss Charged With Fraud

The former Chief Executive of the JSPCA has been charged on suspicion of defrauding the animals charity.

Major Stephen Coleman is accused of giving himself and others unauthorised pay rises and bonuses.

He's been charged with 15 counts of fraud, 2 of forgery and two of uttering forged documents.

It follows what police called a 'lengthy and complex' investigation, which began in November 2017.

Mr. Coleman had been asked to 'step away' from his position in the summer of that year.

The alleged offences span a decade between February 2007 and January 2017.

Major Coleman appeared before Jersey's Magistrates Court this morning.

He's been bailed to re-appear in court on 1 October.
