Government: Avoid St Malo This Weekend

Islanders are being asked not to visit or stay in Brittany, specifically St Malo, this weekend because of a recent increase in coronavirus cases in the region.

France's seven day average of new cases has gone above 1,000 for the first time since early to mid-May.

There were 44 new cases in the Ille-et-Vilaine region on Wednesday alone.

Jersey's government says this advice does not impact those driving through the area to visit other parts of France.

The country remains on green status, but it is 'being monitored'.

People coming to Jersey from a designated green country do not need to isolate until receiving their coronavirus test result.
