Harbour Pub ‘The Shipyard’ To Open In Spring

A new restaurant and bar called The Shipyard will open at Jersey’s St Helier Harbour next Spring.

It will be operated by the Casual Dining Group, which runs UK brands including Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge.

Ports of Jersey says the Elizabeth terminal eatery will focus on delivering an all-day offering of high-quality food and refreshments and that work on it is due to start soon.

In the meantime we’re told the kiosk has extended its range of hot and cold dishes.

The previous harbour restaurant closed in 2013.

CDG already operates all food and beverage concessions at Jersey Airport.

It is bringing its ‘Ale And Coffee House’ concept to the harbour. There are already two of them at Heathrow Airport.

The group says the pub will cater for passengers and local residents, and host weekend entertainment nights including live bands, jazz nights and stand-up comedy.

“As we’re catering for the local community as well as visitors, we’ve done something a little different with this site and included a stage for local bands and comedians – it’s going to be a great attraction and we can’t wait to open the doors early next year. We look forward to building on this momentum and growing this concept in the future at other national transport hubs including airports, ports and major train stations – its already been very well received at Heathrow Airport and we have no doubt it will be the same in Jersey.” – Mark Nelson, Managing Director of Concessions and Franchising
