Jersey GP becomes the first to give free appointments to patients

Windsor Medical Pactice

A Jersey medical practice becomes the first in the island to permanently give its patients, and 1,000 new ones, free GP appointments.

Windsor Medical Practice is launching its free services for its current patients and a thousand more on a first-come, first-served basis.

It is in response to the growing cost of living pressures islanders face, as well as the Health Minister making comments about fining people who use A&E for 'non-emergencies'.

The GP practice believes many islanders are putting off going to their doctors due to cost, which can lead to more serious health problems and hospital admissions.

A spokesperson for Windsor Medical Practice says no one should have to put their health at risk because they cannot afford to see a doctor.

"This is about making healthcare accessible to everyone in Jersey—regardless of income—and encouraging early, proactive medical care to keep our community healthy."

The free appointment offer will be a permanent change to support islanders and reduce pressure on emergency services.

To receive free GP appointments, all islanders have to do is register with Windsor as a primary patient.
