Jersey Zoo welcomes new set of capybara sisters

Tayto and Tatti

Tayto and Tatti have joined Central Valley Lake at Jersey Zoo.

The giant semi-aquatic rodents have moved to Jersey from Hertfordshire Zoo.

The sisters are settling in their new environment with the Chilean flamingos in the wetland enclosure.

Jersey saw the return of capybara in 2023 with Maple and Olive joining the zoo from ZooParc de Beauval in France.

However, Olive passed away, leaving her half-sister, just two months after coming to the island.
