Jersey Zoo's Phantom Fun Run

This year's Durrell Dash will have a spooky theme to tie in with the Museum of Bones exhibition.

Islanders have six days left to sign up for this year's Durrell Dash fundraiser, which has a scary twist.

Those taking part are being encouraged to dress in their best Halloween costumes as the run coincides with the last day of the Museum of Bones exhibition.

Alexandra Shears, Durrell’s Director of Communications and Fundraising, says they hope the public will feel inspired to raise funds for Durrell’s work saving some of the world’s rarest animals.

"We are so excited to welcome runners back to the Durrell Dash this year.

We hope to see as many ghosts and ghouls as possible taking to the lanes of Trinity for this Halloween-themed fun run."

The charity's 15th fun run has three courses, the family-friendly 2.6K, a 6K and a sizeable 12K, which go around the lanes of Trinity.

Prizes will be given to those with the best costumes and to the person who raises the most money.

When the race ends islanders will also have free entry to the zoo, along with a medal and refreshments.

Currently, 350 people have signed up to raise money for the wildlife welfare charity.

Registration closes at 9am on Tuesday 1 November.
