Liberation Day Wreath Destroyed In Guernsey

Guernsey Police are looking for whoever destroyed a wreath left by the Bailiff at the St Peter Port war memorial to mark the 75th anniversary of Liberation Day.

The force has called it ' despicable'. The wreath was taken to Le Febvre Street sometime today (Sunday 10 May) and smashed. It could not be repaired and had to be seized.

It was laid on the monument on Smith Street by Sir Richard Collas on Liberation Day.
