Families for looking for activities this February half-term have another option with the addition of a new 'Adventure Arena' at Les Ormes.

Jump Jersey is opening the 394m² inflatable park in February for children who will spend the week away from the classrooms.

General Manager, Nathan Maguire says the £120,000 investment makes sense.

"We aim to introduce new opportunities for children in Jersey.

"The Bosdet Foundation is very keen on supporting opportunities for children in Jersey."

The Bosdet Foundation a charity, formed in 1989, Les Ormes funds through its profits.

Bosdet aims to benefit families and children, in the long term, and create positive changes in Jersey's community.

The 'Adventure Arena' will be replacing the airbag jump and smaller toddler trampolines.

The trampoline area, dodgeball courts, ninja warrior course and 'Total Wipeout' machine will remain.

However, the new inflatables area includes:

• Slides,
• Climbing features,
• Balance pods,
• And, an obstacle course.

Nathan says the current equipment there limits accessibility for numbers.

"You can only have a very small number of people on them at one time, whereas [the new arena] will increase the number."

When asked by Channel 103 about his opinions on the dwindling options of activities for families in the island, the Jump Jersey General Manager says Jersey does not lack things for families, but indoor play could be better.

"We've got beaches, we've got places to explore, but what Jersey probably does lack is quality indoor facilities, like the loss of Fort Regent.

"For us, it's all about continually looking to invest in those products in the next few years to keep offering people birthday party opportunities or  school groups a place to visit."

Jump Jersey will be closed from 20 January until the start of half-term, 17 February while the new arena is installed.

Entry is included in the 'Open Bounce' ticket and is free to guests staying at Les Ormes.
