Deputy Malcolm Ferey will take on the role of Assistant Minister for Health and Social Services in Jersey.
Deputy Malcolm Ferey has been appointed as the Second Assistant Minister for Health and Social Services as well as continuing in his role as Assistant Minister for Social Services.
Deputy Ferey joins Deputy Rose Binet, who has responsibility for Mental Health in the ministerial team.
His responsibilities will include rehabilitation, adult services, social care policy and stakeholder engagement with charitable organisations.
The deputy says he's extremely please that Minister for Health and Social Services Deputy Karen Wilson has created the second role.
"The Health portfolio has strong links with my work at Social Security and I am looking forward to bridging these two workstreams, interacting with a wider range of staff and identifying any gaps in service delivery."
Deputy Wilson says deputy Ferey’s appointment brings a wide range of skills ensures that links with the Minister for Social Security is strengthened.
"Deputy Ferey’s strong background with the charitable sector in Jersey and his passion for all areas of health and social care is a real asset. Deputy Binet and I are delighted to welcome him."
