Residents on Palmyra Road were told to stay inside and close their windows after reports of a gas leak.
Two Jersey Fire & Rescue crews were called to the St Helier road near Rouge Bullion.
It is believed the gas leak was caused by a workman cutting through a pipe in a property.
The site has now been deemed 'safe' by Jersey gas company, Island Energy.
The utility company says it is sorry for any inconvenience.
"Our engineers responded quickly once informed about the damage and fixed the issue."
