Plemont Bay Lifeguard Patrols Suspended

Lifeguards won't be patrolling at Plemont for the foreseeable future after a group of them tested positive for coronavirus.

The RNLI says the four lifeguards affected are all self-isolating and awaiting further test results.

Beach-goers planning on taking a dip in the sea are being urged to go to one of the other guarded bays until the RNLI's full service can be resumed.

Its remaining lifeguards will be patrolling at St Ouen's Bay, St Brelade's Bay and Greve de Lecq:

"The Jersey lifeguard team is reduced in numbers and we’ve had to make the difficult decision to withdraw the lifeguard service from Plémont beach on a temporary basis.

"A full lifeguard service is still operating at St Ouens, St Brelades and Grève de Lecq, if you are planning on going into the water over the next few days, please head to one of these beaches." -RNLI spokesperson
