Motorcyclists as young as five are showing off their stunt-riding skills at this year's Jersey International Motoring Festival.

Solent Stars display team from Southampton are debuting their talents at People's Park today (30 May) as part of the biggest weekend in the calendar for the island's petrolheads.

The group of five to 16 year olds will perform their daring stunts at 4.00pm and again tomorrow (Friday 31 May) at 2.30pm.

Joanne Bull, co-ordinator for the team, says the youngsters train every weekend on their motorcross-style bikes to be able to entertain crowds across the country.

She says they aim to not only teach children motorcycle skills, but also to educate them to respect the road going into adulthood.

"We strive to build strong foundations of what we consider to be essential skills, positive attitude, teamwork, discipline and respect. All crucial skills in our society."

Islanders can watch the new 25-minute-long show, with stunts including jumping through fire, for free.

Solent Stars

The four-day showcase continues tonight with the Rolling Roadshow motor parade along Victoria Avenue (6.30pm to 11.00pm) and the popular Moonlight Sprint on Friday evening (31 May).

Saturday (1 June) will see competitors testing their skill and precision on the steep incline and hairpin turn of the Westmount Hillclimb (10am until 5pm).

Islanders can also view the 2024 Jersey Concours D’Elegance (1pm-6pm) at Lower Park, and see a selection of classic, vintage, and modern cars and motorcycles. Plus, there will be live music, food and drink and entertainment in People's Park.

Westmount Hillclimb

Sunday, the final day of the 2024 Rubis Jersey International Motoring Festival, will feature a second Westmount Hillclimb (9.30am until 2.30pm).

There will also be additional events at People's Park, with more motoring demonstrations in the Active Area at Victoria Park and the static display will return for a second day.

Friday 31st May 2024:
