Your chance to be in the new Bergerac series

The production team behind the remake of the hit TV detective show Bergerac is looking for extras.

The reboot is filming this summer in numerous locations around the island.

Damien Molony is in the title role as the iconic detective John Nettles, and stars alongside Philip Glenister, known for 'Life on Mars', Zoe Wanamaker of 'Harry Potter' and 'My Family' fame, and Jersey actor Timothy Renouf.

Superfans and aspiring actors looking to join that line up have to be 18 or over to apply and be available throughout August and September.

We're told supporting artists and extras of all backgrounds are invited to apply, as long as they have or have access to their own transport.

While we do not know much about the plot so far, Timothy Renouf told us that there will be a change in tone:

"The original was at a time in the 80s of glamour and its very fast cars and very of its time.

"Now we are updating it and it will be much darker, much moodier and much grittier."

Timothy also exclusively told Channel 103 that some filming will take place at the Jersey Opera House, which is currently undergoing a £12 million renovation.
